Frequently Asked Questions
Have a general question about the FASTSIGNS® franchise opportunity? We provide answers below.
If you still have questions please contact us!
How Much Can I Earn with a FASTSIGNS Franchise?
The FASTSIGNS earning opportunity is uncapped. We have franchisees regularly achieving in excess of £1.2 million sales per annum, with six figure net profits per year being delivered. It takes time to establish your business, and our average centre turnover is £450,000 with expected profit margins of between 18-22%.
How much does a FASTSIGNS Franchise Cost?
A FASTSIGNS Franchise can cost between £134,000 and £169,000 depending on your location. This cost covers your liquid capital, your franchise fee, the initial rent on your centre’s location, opening package equipment and your first year’s marketing. Your training costs and flights to Dallas and your accommodation are also included within this cost range.
Are There Any Ongoing Costs?
Yes, as a franchisee, in your first year, you will pay a 4% royalty fee, of your annual sales, net of VAT, to FASTSIGNS. This rises to 7% from your second year in business. These franchise fees provide you access to our business model, support, brand assets, supplier relationships and so much more.
What is a Management Franchise?
A management franchise is a manager-led business structure, where you focus on strategic growth, business development and team leadership, rather than daily production. Instead of manufacturing signs yourself, you lead a specialised team of sales, design, and production personnel, who handle technical execution while you drive revenue and build enterprise value.
What kind of signage products and visual graphics will my centre supply?
You’ll supply all kinds of signage, visual communications and graphics. From large exterior building signage and interior wall graphics and decor to vehicle graphics and banners. If you can see it, there is usually an opportunity to add signage to it, in some form.
What profile of B2B customers will I serve?
Your customer base encompasses virtually every commercial, corporate and public sector organisation in your territory. Because visual communication is essential across all industries, your revenue streams are diversified across resilient sectors including Healthcare, Education, Retail & Leisure, Manufacturing & Logistics, Hospitality and Commercial Real Estate.
Is a B2B signage franchise a viable long-term investment?
Yes. With over 3.2 million commercial sites across the UK, demand for high-impact visual branding, directional messaging and digital signage remains constant. Serving a diversified B2B client base provides ongoing, repeat project revenue that protects your business against sector-specific economic shifts.
What Kind of Support Does FASTSIGNS Offer Franchisees?
You receive end-to-end, dual-tier support from both our global headquarters, based in Dallas, Texas and dedicated UK operations team. International teams handle ongoing brand development and technology R&D, while our UK-based team delivers local market adaptation, site selection assistance, financial planning, marketing setup, and exit strategy execution.
Can I Speak With Other FASTSIGNS Franchisees as part of my research into the business opportunity?
Absolutely! We actually actively encourage you to undertake conversations with other FASTSIGNS franchisees as part of your due diligence. The FASTSIGNS UK support team will facilitate your meeting with our franchisees, setting up dates for you to attend centres across the UK. You attend these visits by yourself and you can ask the questions you need answering, from people who have been in your shoes.
What Experience Do I Need?
You don’t need any signage experience to run a FASTSIGNS franchise. Our franchise model is a Management opportunity. Experience of managing a team is a plus, but it is not essential. Your Foundations training with FASTSIGNS will teach you everything you need to know about the signage industry and our ongoing business mentoring will help you develop the skills to run your FASTSIGNS franchise successfully.
Will I have Protected Territory?
Yes, when you take a FASTSIGNS franchise on, you will get a protected franchise-agreed territory. This territory is where you can market your business proactively and no other franchisee can market their business in your area. This doesn’t mean, however, that your opportunities end at the border of your territory. If a customer contacts you from outside of your territory and they are not already a customer of another FASTSIGNS franchise, you are free to do business with this customer – in fact we actively encourage you to develop and nurture these relationships.
How Long Will It Take for My FASTSIGNS Centre to Be Up and Running?
From the date you enquire about the FASTSIGNS franchise to your launch day really depends on how motivated you are, your financial circumstances and our ability to locate appropriate premises. It can take as little as 3 months to set up, but every Franchisee journey is unique and tailored to your requirements.
