Martin & Joanne Slater were both ready to leave demanding, unsociable hours behind: Martin after years of late hospitality shifts and Joanne after working in accountancy, followed by NHS admin. They wanted their evenings and weekends back ahead of retirement, with family very much on their minds, including Joanne’s father, who needed additional support.
